Brake Fluid

Subteam: SuspensionSubsystem: BrakesAssembly: Brake Lines and FluidCars: CR21, CR22, CR25, CR26I

Purpose

Transmit pressure from the master cylinders to the calipers without compressing or boiling.

Function

Motul RBF 660. Boiling point matters because vapour in the line is compressible, which is what causes a long or fading pedal after repeated hard braking.

Design Process

Motul RBF 660 raised the dry boiling point 60 C (265 to 325 C) and the wet boiling point 49 C (155 to 204 C) against the previous fluid.
