Oil Cooling Duct

Purpose

Seals the oil sidepod inlet to the oil-to-air heat exchanger core.

Function

The oil circuit's equivalent of the water duct. Mounted using insulating foam and zip-tied to the mounting tabs on the oil cooler.

Design Process

Sized to the oil cooler's 0.060 kg/s target mass airflow; CR26I achieved 0.087 kg/s.

Manufacturing Process

Wet layup on a 3D printed mold.

CFRP, insulating foam mounting, zip ties, foil tape sealing.
