Pressure Regulator

Subteam: PowertrainSubsystem: FuelAssembly: Fuel AssemblyCars: CR25, CR26I

Purpose

Hold fuel rail pressure at the calibrated value regardless of engine demand, returning excess to the tank.

Function

A DeatschWerks DW1000c regulator, adjustable from 30 to 120 psi, provided by DeatschWerks. Operating pressure of 80 psi was determined by testing on a dynamometer.

Design Process

The adjustable range covers the entire range of operable pressures, and the injectors support up to 116 psi, so there is headroom above the operating point.

Properties

Adjustable 30-120 psi, set at 80 psi. From the design reports and one-pagers: CR22 regulator: DeatschWerks 6-1002-FRB compact, $129, sponsored. Allows manual fuel pressure setting and can work independent of or referenced to MAP, which is what makes the dyno pressure sweep possible. Requires -6AN male fittings, so two -6 to -4 male-male adapters with nylon washers are needed. Quantity per car, as costed: 1
